Sierra Vista’s inpatient and outpatient adolescent mental health treatment programs helps stabilize teens between the ages of 13-17 (12-year-olds will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
The inpatient treatment program are for teens who are in an immediate crisis while providing the skills to help minimize future incidents.
- Danger to Self, Danger to Others, or Gravely Disabled
- Mood Disorders such as Major Depression

Mental Health Treatment Overview
We perform a thorough mental health assessment and develop an individual plan for each adolescent. The treatment team assesses the needs of the individual and provides a supportive, respectful environment that encourages and reinforces positive behaviors, such as:

Adolescent Outpatient Services
The outpatient program runs for up to eight weeks and is presented in four modules. Each module is two weeks long and will teach skills for each of the following:
The quality of awareness we bring to what we are doing and experiencing, to being in the here and now.
- Distress Tolerance
Consists of four groups of crisis survival strategies: Distraction, Self‐Soothing, Improving the Moment, & Pros and Cons.
- Emotional Regulation
Learn to understand how emotions work and the skills to manage emotions instead of being managed by them, and to build positive emotional experiences.
- Interpersonal Relations
In this module all the skills come together in a synergistic way.
